Have you ever changed your mind? Of course you have, we all do it all the time. Instead of going to Walmart, we go to Ridley's. Instead of going out to dinner, we stay home. But what about bigger issues? Issues that matter to God, like, instead of remembering that I have forgiven someone, I choose to be angry with them again. Chapters 34 and 35 of Jeremiah reveal the fickleness of the human heart and the ease with which we abandon our word, all the while holding tight to lesser allegiances.
