Kevin Olivarez – Lead Pastor
In August of 2014 Kevin was called to Blackfoot to “restart” First Baptist Church. Shortly after Kevin arrived the church became Blackfoot Christian Fellowship (BCF) with a mission to glorify God by helping people follow Jesus. Kevin’s heart is to lead the people of BCF to be a church of ordinary people living intentionally in Blackfoot to bring joy to it through word and deed.
Kevin has been married to his best friend Kate since 2001. They have three amazingly smart, cute, and very active kids: Claire, Daniel, and Jolee.
Kevin loves running, frequently you can find him running around Blackfoot. Kevin also really likes working with wood and trying to “upcycle” pallets into something creative, fun and useful. On fall Saturdays you’ll find him splitting time between running, coaching his kid’s various sports teams, and watching college football (especially Texas A&M)!
B.S., Agricultural Economics, Texas A&M University
M.A. Theology, Fuller Theological Seminary
Kevin has been thinking about pursuing a D.Min for a long time
CHURCH SECRETARY, AWANA COMMANDER
Laura Mansanarez grew up knowing, and loving, God. But, it wasn’t until the church she was raised in (The Worldwide Church of God) made enormous changes, that she began to really KNOW and LOVE Jesus.
Since that time, she has also fallen in love with Christian radio and the diverse styles and lyrics that mean more than ever before. Laura writes songs, poems, and stories of her own and enjoys encouraging others with them as part of the Idaho Writers league. Laura say her best creations come from The Great Creator, who guides her as she writes.
Laura has been the Blackfoot Kid’s Awana Club Commander since the club began in 2013. You can learn more about Awana here.
She also has a heart for helping those in tough situations and served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Bingham Crisis Center for over 10 years.
Laura has been married to her husband, Mark, since March of 1981, has two great kids, a wonderful son-in-law, and two beautiful granddaughters.
In 2005 Laura became the church “Secretary,” a title Pastor Kevin does not like because Laura is so much more than that!
