You’ve probably heard the famous proverb— “Pride goes before destruction and a haughty spirit before the fall." (Proverbs 16:18). God gives us a graphic picture of how pride rots and destroys something that was created for beauty. Israel was to be his blessing to all nations and to bring God fame, praise, and glory, but their pride wrecked their relationship with God and one another. Now their shame and humiliation were on display. What do you do if you’ve been humiliated by your own sin? Jeremiah 13 has some good news for us.
