Title: Put out into deep water.
Scripture: Luke 5 ;1-11
Summary: After a long and unproductive night of fishing, Jesus asks Peter and his crew to put out in deep water to lower his nets. Like you and me, Peters’ first thoughts are probably, seriously, Jesus? But Peter decides to do what Jesus asks anyway, and the next thing we see is nets so full they begin to tear. This prompts Peter to tell Jesus to get away from him because of his sinfulness. But Jesus’ response is the refrain we have heard again and again: Don’t be afraid! What do nets full of fish and Peter’s sinfulness and fear have to do with one another?
