A Voice Came From Heaven - Luke 3:21-38
Title: A Voice Came From Heaven
Scripture: Luke 3:21-38
Summary: On the banks of the Jordan River, crowds gathered as a “voice in the wilderness” called out to people to repent and be baptized. Luke tells us that Jesus is baptized along with the others, but while he is praying, the heavens open, the spirit descends, and a voice declares, “You are my one dear Son; in you, I take great delight.” Then, Luke proceeds to give us an account of Jesus’ ancestry. What are we to do with this? Simply put, Luke is connecting all the dots for us to see who Jesus truly is. Jesus is the messianic King from the line of David, who fulfills the Abrahamic covenant to be a blessing to all people.
Join us this Sunday as we unpack the baptism story and family tree of Jesus to learn how this is good news for all people.
